Summer Jams are where I've had some of the best times on my bike. Times where you laugh the hardest, times where you see people you haven't seen in ages and times where you see some amazing tricks go down. The photo above is from one of the best local jams I've ever been to. The Barkum Jam on Wirral. We all used to get together bring wood, tools and any scraps we could salvage from surrounding areas and build some kind of ramps. Of recent years its been a poor effort of a jam, mainly due to the people organizing it doing absolutely nothing and expecting something to happen. My point is that summer jams don't happen without a group effort. It only takes a couple of mates to get together, build some temporary ramps and put the word out on Facebook or Twitter to get a bunch of people down. If you're thinking by now, "why me", well why not? At the end of the day you could be creating something that people will look back on in a few years, even ten years and think they were the good days, that was BMX.
